Client Coordination
Two corporate websites, managed from proposal to launch.
I managed the GenstarMate and Mate Plus website builds from proposal and planning through design, development, QA, and launch. My role covered client communication, requirements, IA and screen planning, schedules, content, design reviews, and coordination with developers.
How do we structure two websites with different business needs?
GenstarMate and Mate Plus required separate site structures, content, and functions within one project. The work required aligning client requirements with planning, design, and development while managing changes throughout the build.
Create a shared structure for delivery
I defined the site structure and screen requirements first, then used them as a shared reference for client reviews, design, development, content, and QA.
Site Structure
Defined the sitemap, navigation, page hierarchy, and content scope for GenstarMate and Mate Plus based on client requirements.
Translated requirements into screen definitions covering page structure, content, interactions, and functional behavior for design and development.
Project Delivery
Coordinated client communication, schedules, design reviews, development requests, content, QA, approvals, and launch across both websites.
2 Websites
Delivered GenstarMate and Mate Plus as one coordinated project.
Proposal → Launch
Worked across proposal, planning, production, QA, and launch.
Client ↔ Production
Connected client requirements with design and development throughout the build.
What I learned?
Define before building
Clear site structures and screen definitions gave the client, designers, and developers a shared reference throughout the project.
Keep changes visible
Tracking requirement and content changes helped keep planning, design, and development aligned during production.
